DOLLHOUSE

Dollhouses are understood as gendered spaces for speculation and idealization. They are interpretive play spaces for the enactment of social and identity constructs. This exhibition presented the oversized empty dollhouse (7′ x 8′ x 1.5′) as a vessel for internalized projected narratives. In contrast, on the opposite wall, abundant drawings offered narrative suggestions that correspond to specific spaces within the dollhouse, as well as layers of the psyche.
